Lacking standard definitions for clinical trial end points in children with kidney diseases results in varying outcomes and is a challenge in assessing the true impact of interventions. It is likely that clinical trials with innovative, targeted therapies will be conducted for childhood steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) in the foreseeable future. An international consortium of the IPNA Best Practices and Standards Committee and the Pediatric Nephrology Expert Group of the conect4children (c4c) network developed through consensus, standardized, internationally acceptable definitions for trial outcomes for SRNS. In this webinar we will discuss the end points definitions formulated for complete, partial, non-remission of disease, reduction in proteinuria, kidney disease progression and kidney failure.
