Meet Dawn Evans: Our NEW IPNA AMBASSADOR

Dawn Raven Evans’ journey to becoming an advocate for those living with kidney disease is one defined by resilience, reinvention, and purpose. A record-breaking basketball star at James Madison University and former professional athlete, Dawn appeared to be living the dream when, at just 21 years old, she received a life-altering diagnosis: focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a serious kidney disease. What followed was a deeply personal battle that included two kidney transplants and years of uncertainty. Yet Dawn approached the fight the same way she approached the court, and later her acting career — with determination and unwavering belief that she would overcome the odds.

Today, that experience fuels her mission. Having lived through the fear, treatments, and life-changing impact of kidney disease, Dawn now uses her platform to advocate for patients and families worldwide, ensuring that others facing similar diagnoses feel seen, supported, and inspired to keep believing in their future.  We are excited and lucky to have Dawn become our first IPNA Ambassador! Look for more activities and information about IPNA’s new Ambassador initiative with Dawn Raven Evans and about how we can all work together to create IPNA’s vision – Optimal Care for All Children with Kidney Disease!
