Grand Rounds in Pediatric Nephrology — an ISN-IPNA Sister Centers initiative: Approach to Infantile hypercalcemia

We will present case histories of two infants with failure to thrive and symptomatic hypercalcemia.

In the first case, we will discuss the approach to the evaluation of hypercalcemia including the role of genetic testing.

In the second case, we will focus on the treatment of infantile hypercalcemia.

As outlined in our proposal, we would like to present 2 cases briefly to highlight the approach to evaluation as well as treatment strategies.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Differential diagnosis of an infant with hypercalcemia
  2. Evaluation of hypercalcemia and role of genetic testing
  3. Treatment of infantile hypercalcemia
